Ported Canton Block Adapter

Any time you add a component into your oil system, you must be concerned about it's impact on oil flow.  You should do all you can to reduce restrictions.

This is a OEM Canton block adapter.

 If you were to look at the 351w or 460 cylinder block, you would see a similar depression and hole where oil is delivered from the oil pump.  Depending on how the adapter is orientated for your installation, the hole in the block and the hole in the adapter may be clocked 180from each other.  This makes the depth of the depression critical as the oil flow must make two sharp 90o turns.

 

This is the same Canton adapter ported.

The depression through which the oil flows is now twice as deep and the feed hole has been opened up to allow easier flow to the outlet.
