Dry Sump Engine Install

 

First fit of the 3 gallon oil tank into trunk

Tank to and from pump hoses are -16

tank includes a site tube so you can see oil level

it also inclues a 500watt heater for fast warm ups

 

Final fit of tank into trunk

 

Build of oil manifold.

Eliminates flex lines under car and includes oil drain point

Fit of -16  hoses between tank and manifold

All hoses between the pump and engine are -12 except the -10 valley hose

Canton no-bypass canister oil filter

Note filter is mounted "after the cooler" plus employs a low pressure, ignition kill switch (red cap)

 and

Alternator high mount on drivers side - same as typical Big Block installs

Hold in during start until you have oil pressure.

Fuel pump is on the same circuit, so it must be held in to prime the carburetor if required.

Note no PCV or Breather cap.

The dry sump pump evacuates blow-by and resulting vacuum steadies the rings at high RPM

 

Engine from the passenger side

 

Oil cooler (black) new Setrab 50-915-7612.

Cooler is longer and taller than original

 

New Cooler shroud to accommodate larger cooler

 

Under side of oil cooler shroud and added skid plate

 

New Holley Black G-Rotor fuel pump wired through a relay.

125 GPH @7psi - No regulator required and amazingly quiet

Primer

Because the oil pan is lower that the oil tank, oil from the tank can drain back into the engine.

Priming is required after the car sat for a prolonged time and the oil level shows low in the tank.
